Rad Race Bergfest - Frankfurt - 31st Aug,

Another cool event has been announced by the guys at Rad-Race, Germany. An uphill 11Km race climbing the Feldberg mountain at an average of 6% gradient on August 31st. There is a special category for fixed gear riders and live music and an awards ceremony at the top! Registration is open now!

Fyxation Fixed Criterium, Chicago, 26th July

Fyxation are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the first annual Fyxation Open fixed gear criterium in Chicago, IL on July 26th, 2014. This high energy fixed gear only criterium will be held in conjunction with the Chicago Criterium on day 7 of the Prairie State Cycling Series Intelligentsia Cup and will be held just prior to the men's pro main event at 5:50PM. Over $1500 in cash, prizes and primes are up for grabs during the Open and with a field limit of only 75 riders space will fill up quickly!

"This first of it's kind Midwest fixed gear crit is expected to draw the best riders from the Chicago area and surrounding states. Taking place on the same street course as the Chicago Criterium, the Fyxation Open is a true fixed gear crit and only racers riding fixed gear bikes with drop bars will be eligible to compete. The field limit is set at 75 riders and race spots are available on a first come/first serve basis. Riders can pre-register for $30 by visiting the Prairie State Cycling website. Each rider will receive a commemorative Fyxation Open T-shirt and will be eligible to win over $1500 in cash, prizes and race primes from Fyxation and a host of other sponsors including Chrome Industries, All City Cycles, Red Bull, Nutcase and Abus.
Full race rules are posted on the Prairie State Cycling series website but because this is a winner take all event with no qualifying rounds, we'll be staging CAT 2 and above riders at the front just prior to the race and once the race has begun riders out of contention may be pulled from the race.

Posters have been printed and we are partnering with local bike shops, cycling teams, local and national media to spread the word about this great event.  We've also teamed up with former national criterium champion, Olympian and member of Team 7-Eleven, Tom Schuler, to help plan and promote the event.

"We did traffic studies of the area on three separate nights. We believe that heavy traffic will not be a problem. We also went "full speed" on the course with out any cones or people watching the corners. So With a few cones and people helping on turn #3 we'll be in good shape."

Timeline:

7:00 Register and pre ride

8:00 Registration closes

8:05 Mandatory racers meeting

8:10 Race start.

9:15 Awards and Podium following the race at The Foundry / Chicken Scratch.

Bikes:

Helmets must be worn at all times while riding a bicycle. All bikes must be fixed gear, brakeless,
have dropbars, bar end plugs, and foot retention. Quick releases are allowed for front wheels
only. Horizontal dropouts are not required, but chain tension will be checked on bikes. The use of
GoPro cameras and lights are allowed and encouraged.

Course:

Clockwise around 2600 Lone Star Dr, Dallas, TX 75212.
No permit and on open streets. We are picking a low traffic city block to go clockwise around.

Race:
30 minute race with five laps to go announced. All primes and the final lap will be bell laps.
Lapped riders will be pulled by officials as seen fit. Spectators are encouraged to ride or car pool
to the race since parking is limited.Awards will be given at The Foundry / Chicken Scratch.

The iBike fixed gear crit at Monte-Saint-Anne is being held on Saturday August 2nd and still open to enter!

RACE FORMAT:

THREE CATEGORIES

Fixed Gear.
Open Men*
Open Women* (minimum 15 participants or women will race with men in the Open Category)
*All types of bikes with at least one brake will be accepted in the men & women OPEN category (fixed, mountain, road, single, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

Cyclists are divided into groups and must race a short track for 15 minutes. Each lap is timed, and the best run counts as the qualifying time. The 50 fastest cyclists move up to the finale.

FINALE

Cyclists are placed on the start line according to their qualifying time. Start is indicated with a starting pistol. The race lasts 15 minutes after which a second shot fired.The three first cyclists to cross the finish line win the race. Lapped riders are disqualified.

Cannondale Track 2015 Vs Cinelli Parralax 2014

As everyone and their dog heard today, Cannondale have a new track bike coming to compliment their current commercial roster. So my initial thoughts were pretty excitable... Romance of the 90's track we all know and love with its tidy clearances. And the green... THE GREEN! I opened a tab and looked back at pictures of my old GT Performer and reminisced... The black Skyways silhouetted against the bright green frame...

Anyway, here is the new Track compared to a Parralax, (It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine)

So, slack then. Too much hanging out on the dosnoventa pages? I see Brighton sea front with risers, spok & making full use of 17 skid patches as its future.

Hopefully word is getting around regarding Absolute Black! Since coming across Marcin's work I find myself constantly going back to gaze through the shop window of his site. See, I'm waiting for a 144bcd track ring, and now I've heard they're in the pipeline!

Rheticus criterion will engage both body and mind as riders navigate around a unique and challenging technical course. Reaching speeds of up to 50 km / h on a indoor course through 4 Rooms and doors in a 300m2 area on the 2nd floor at Palais Liechtenstein in Feldkirch. The event will be open for Fixed - Single Speed ​​and Race Bike Riders.
